Scenes from the week

It's Friday and we are finishing our first full week of school at CES.  Take a look at some of our amazing adventures this week!

The Coleytown teachers learned how to play Gaga at our first faculty meeting.  The gaga pit is new to CES this year and the students love to play at recess.

Coleytown students will continue to chart our feelings using the Mood Meter.  We will be learning new "feelings" words all year long.  Our first word of the year was excited.  Excited is a feeling in the yellow quadrant.  I think we can agree that Mrs. Perry is often excited about CES!

Kindergarten students began to write stories this week.  Their stories contain pictures and words.

Fourth grade students practiced their math facts and learned different ways to make multiplication arrays.

Fifth grade students drew self portraits in their Art classes.

Kindergarten students also learned how to take care of books that they check out of the library.

First graders are building good reading habits.  They enjoyed time reading alone and with partners in Reading Workshop.

In Health, second graders learned about the different food groups.  They looked at this month's cafeteria menus to determine which food groups were represented each day.

Third graders explored place value concepts in math.
